CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After a much lauded first night of the Democratic National Convention, key members of the GOP responded negatively, most notably, nominee Mitt Romney.
“Michelle Obama, while some feel made an eloquent and heartfelt speech, did fail to recognize some very important subjects. But most of all, she did not mention me. I am deeply disappointed,” he said today.
“She instead ignored important issues, and preferred to cover topics like women’s rights, medical benefits, and even gay rights. Where are your priorities, Democratic Party?”
Fox News covered the first night of the DNC, and were amazed at how many facts were represented. “I will admit our fact-checkers were not able to detect any fallacies,” said Sean Hannity, “but our special team of ‘nitpickers’ found many items that were not mentioned, such as God and Jerusalem being the capital of Israel. Also, nothing was mentioned about the wonderful job Bush did in Iraq. ‘GM saved, Bin Laden dead’, blah blah blah…”
Avid supporters of the GOP, including Rush Limbaugh and Hank Williams, Jr., weighed in with accusations of “not making up shit”, which is, in their words, “what keeps us employed”.
In related news, DNC Chairman Antonio Villaraigosa says the only foreseeable problem he can imagine with the rest of the convention is that audiences might not be able to hear anything after the opening night’s speech by MA Gov. Deval Patrick…
